About Me
I am an energetic hands-on product design leader with mechanical engineering expertise. I thrive working in fast diverse collaborative teams bringing new product ideas to market at scale.
With extensive design engineering roles in-house and design consulting, my Silicon Valley projects have spanned a wide range of consumer products from smartphones and apps to kitchen utensils, medical devices, launching the first VR systems and revolutionizing strength fitness.
In 2003 I founded a new product design and development studio in Shanghai for IDEO, world renowned for world-class design and engineering services. I had a unique opportunity to build a new local integrated design team and act on the changing and growing opportunities for design and consulting in modern China with local brands.
While leading integrated design strategy at HTC, my focus included Android smartphones, mobile imaging, advanced concepts and virtual reality. I was inspired by our world-class hardware/software development prowess driven by design, technology, partners/markets and breakthrough experiences.
TONAL was my own amazing in-house start-up opportunity to invent a new category of data-driven connected-fitness strength training technology and bring its revolutionary new product/brand/service to the world as fast as possible.
Now at PCH International, I lead System Engineering bringing new hardware concepts to market at scale for global brands and start-ups.
I am also available for direct engagement consulting services via Nicholson Product Design. I love to work with new ambitious teams to design, create, test and iterate to achieve new awesome products.
